So, what happened in our area? We had freezing rain, not snow. Maybe there was some snow during the night, but only a little 😔
We had (and still have) electricity, which means the house stayed warm — unlike in 2021.
On Sunday we had a nice time outside: we went sledding, cleaned the driveway of ice and snow, and just walked around in the cold weather (which is rare for Texas).

The road was covered with a layer of ice, but some people were still trying to drive somewhere early in the morning. Considering that people here don’t have winter tires, it was pretty risky. I also tried to drive to McDonald’s, but not early in the morning. I went in the afternoon, when the sun had melted the ice a bit. I just can say I made the right choice driving an AWD car instead of a front-wheel-drive one.
The ISD sent a notification that schools are closed on Monday (today) and Tuesday (tomorrow) as well. My son is happy and playing with LEGO.
Will February bring another winter storm like the one in 2021?
