Camping season is finally here!

The Texas heat is finally starting to fade, and evening and nighttime temperatures are becoming comfortable enough for tent camping!

On October 9–10, we finally went on our long-awaited camping trip. We headed to one of our favorite places — Grelle Recreation Area.

When camping with kids, we really like campsite #18, but sites #11, #13, and #14 are also great options.

This time, we had a pretty big group, so we booked two campsites right next to each other — #13 and #14.

And the best part? The burn ban had been lifted! So we could finally enjoy a real campfire, grilled meat, and all kinds of delicious food cooked over an open fire.

My son also asked me to help him record a video for his YouTube channel:

I’m really happy that the kids enjoy camping so much. They spend time outdoors, run around, play, and have fun.

And meanwhile, we guys can sit around the campfire late at night, relax, and talk about anything and everything.

The next morning, there was a beautiful layer of fog over the water. It was an amazing sight!

We stayed for just one night, but some of our friends decided to stay for a second night.

I’m not quite ready for two nights of camping yet. It’s still too hot for me during the day. But I’d really love to give it a try when the weather gets cooler!
