Yesterday (May 24, 2026), my wife, our friends, and I went to San Antonio to see The Rasmus, Apocalyptica, and The Hu live.
The Rasmus – In the Shadows
The last time I listened to The Rasmus regularly was about 20 years ago, back in high school. I discovered their music sometime around 2003 or 2004.
Apocalyptica – Exit Light
I started listening to Apocalyptica around the same time as The Rasmus, but I’ve kept listening to them ever since. Over the years, I’ve had a chance to see them live a few times, in Ukraine and in the U.S.
Yesterday brought back so many memories.
Winter. Darkness outside. Freezing cold. Me walking somewhere with Apocalyptica and The Rasmus playing on my flash MP3 player.
Good memories. For a moment, it really felt like I was back in that time.
If someone had told me back then that one day I would see them live, I probably wouldn’t have believed it. Back then, it felt unreal and somehow unreachable.
The Hu – The Trooper
I discovered The Hu in 2017. Such a great band from Mongolia.
So yesterday, my list of bands I’ve seen live got a little longer.
